WORKFRAME series
[Q] Why is the body deeper than other companies' cases?
[A] Some Eurorack modules cannot be installed in modern cases with shallow bodies.
In particular, some modules from the original German company Doepfer require a certain depth to the case, so please try to do so as much as possible.
This depth was chosen to accommodate a wide range of modules .
Our goal is to ensure that our customers can focus on enjoying music without having to worry about whether or not it can be installed.
That is our top priority.
[Q] Why did you use a bass board instead of a flying cable?
[A] This is to prevent the voltage of the power supply to the module from becoming unstable.
Because flying cables are thin vinyl wires, they are not suitable for connecting many modules or for applications requiring a large amount of current.
When such a module is connected, fluctuations and steady-state drops in the power supply voltage occur in response to changes in the current flowing through the cable.
Therefore, it may negatively affect sound quality or cause unstable operation.
[Q] Can the square nut and screw set "NUTS'n BOLTS" be used for Moog "Mother-32" 60HP case and/or Takachi's FFR-43?
[A] Our square nuts are intended to be used for products that use our original rails.
We cannot guarantee that our square nuts will be used for products that use rails from other companies.
(Currently, there are no products other than "WORKFRAME84" that use our rails.)
By the way, the dimensions of the square nut are 5.5mm in length and width, 2.4mm in thickness, and the nominal thread size is M3.
Whether it can be used with this dimension. Please make your own decision.
[Q]I'm not good at replacing square nuts. Is there a better way?
[A] If you use a paper clip (a magnet that holds paper in place) , we think it will solve it. Please watch the video.
POWERBASE series
[Q] Some of the green LEDs on my POWERBASE are not lit. What does that mean?
[A] The three green LEDs on the POWERBASE panel indicate whether power is being supplied to the module correctly.
This is for verification purposes.
If there is an LED that does not light up (or lights up but is dim) when the power is turned on, there is an abnormality in the voltage displayed to the left of that LED.
Yes, we do.
Starting with the last module installed, remove each module one by one, turning on the power each time, until the green LED lights up.
Please check if all three lights illuminate brightly.
A common problem is that the ribbon cable connecting the bus board and the module is connected in the wrong direction.
There have been cases where a +12V LED does not light up (indicating a short circuit at +12V).
[Q] Can I attach and use POWERBASE with a case from another company that I already own?
[A] Yes.
It can be used, but care must be taken when connecting it to the module.
In other companies' products, if the power supply circuit is implemented on the bus board, the POWERBASE's power output is connected to the power supply circuit on the bus board.
If this happens, the power supply may not function properly.
Customers with electrical knowledge can disconnect the power circuit output on the busboard just before distribution, and then connect the POWERBASE power output.
Please connect it to the bus board.
If possible, we recommend using it with our POWERRAIL or with a flying cable from another manufacturer.
[Q] Could you please tell me the manufacturer and model number of a flying cable that can be attached to the POWERBASE?
[A] For example, I think you can use 4ms's "Flying Bus Male".
There is also TipTop's "Zeus Flying bus Board," but the components around the 16-pin header on the POWERBASE side and the "Zeus Flying bus"
If the two plugs on the "Board" side do not physically interfere with each other, then either of the two plugs on the "Zeus Flying bus Board" side
It appears that it can be used by connecting it to the POWERBASE header .
However, the clearance between the two plugs on the "Zeus Flying bus Board" is not constant, so
It's possible that one of the plugs is interfering with the other, preventing a proper connection.
In any case, since it is not our product, we cannot provide any guarantee.
The 4ms "Flying Bus Male" is likely to be more reliable than the TipTop "Zeus Flying Bus Board".
[Q] The POWERBASE has a connector for POWERRAIL connection as well as a header for flying bus cables,
Can they be used simultaneously?
[A] Yes. They can be used simultaneously.
Within the limits of POWERBASE's power supply capacity, you can use many modules with such connection methods.
