WORKFRAME related

[Q] What should I do if I run out of free space to add modules?

[A] By removing the red blank panel on the left end where our logo is bolted,

4HP space can be added.

[Q] Why is the depth of the body deeper than other company's cases?

[A] There are some Eurorack modules that cannot be installed in modern shallow-bodied cases.

In particular, the original German Doepfer module has a case that requires depth, so as much as possible

in many modules by made the depth (depth) to correspond.

Our company can focus on enjoying music without worrying about whether it can be installed or not.

We are thinking about it first.

[Q] Why did you use a bus board instead of a flying cable?

[A] This is to prevent the voltage of the power supply supplied to the module from becoming unstable.

Flying cable is a thin vinyl wire, so you can connect many modules or need a lot of current

a module with when connected, the supply voltage will fluctuate or drop steadily in response to changes in the current flowing through the cable.

As a result, the sound quality may be adversely affected, and the operation may become unstable.

[Q] Can the square nut and screw set "NUTS'n BOLTS" be used for Moog "Mother-32" 60HP case and/or Takachi's FFR-43?

[A] Our square nuts are intended to be used for products that use our original rails.

We cannot guarantee that our square nuts will be used for products that use rails from other companies.

(Currently, there are no products other than "WORKFRAME84" that use our rails.)

By the way, the dimensions of the square nut are 5.5mm in length and width, 2.4mm in thickness, and the nominal thread size is M3.

Whether it can be used with this dimension. Please make your own decision.

[Q]I'm not good at replacing square nuts. Is there a better way?

[A] If you use a paper clip (a magnet that holds paper in place) , we think it will solve it. Please watch the video.

POWERBASE related

[Q] My POWERBASE does not light some of the green LEDs. what does that mean?

[A] The three green LEDs on the POWERBASE panel indicate whether power is being supplied to the module properly.

If there is an LED that does not light up when the power is turned on (or is dim even if it lights up), the voltage displayed to the left of that LED is abnormal.

Starting with the last installed module, remove the modules one by one, turning on the power after each one until the green LED turns on.

Check to see if it lights up brightly all of LED.

A common occurrence is that the ribbon cable connecting the bus board and the module is connected in the wrong direction,

There are cases where the +12V LED does not light up (+12V is shorted).

[Q] Is it possible to attach POWERBASE to a case of another company that I already own?

[A] Yes.

It can be used, but care must be taken when connecting with the module.

In the case of other companies, if the power supply circuit is mounted on the bus board, the power supply output of POWERBASE is connected to the power supply circuit on the bus board.

Doing so may prevent proper power supply.

Customers who have knowledge of electricity should disconnect the output of the power supply circuit on the bus board at the position just before the distribution, and then disconnect the power supply output of POWERBASE.

Connect to bus board.

If possible, we recommend that you use it with our POWERRAIL, or use it with another company's flying cable.

[Q] Please tell me the manufacturer and part number of the flying cable that can be attached to POWERBASE.

[A] For example, We think you can use Flying Bus Male from 4ms.

There is also TipTop's Zeus Flying bus Board, but the parts around the 16-pin header on the POWERBASE side and the Zeus Flying bus Board are also available.

At Board side, If the plugs (there are two) do not physically interfere, use one of the two plugs on the Zeus Flying bus Board side

connecting to the POWERBASE header. It seems that you can connect and use it.

However, it seems that the clearance between the two plugs on the Zeus Flying bus Board side is not constant,

It is also possible that one plug interferes and cannot be connected properly.

In any case, it is not our product, so we cannot guarantee it,

4ms Flying Bus Male is more reliable than TipTop's Zeus Flying bus Board.

[Q]POWERBASE has headers for flying bus cables in addition to connectors for POWERRAIL connections.

Can they be used at the same time?

[A] Yes. Simultaneous use is possible.

Any number of modules can be used with such a connection, within the power supply capability of POWERBASE.
